Yard levelling is corrective grading on an existing lawn — cutting down the high ground, filling the low ground, and re-establishing a consistent surface that drains and mows properly.

It is one of the highest-impact, lowest-cost improvements on most metro Atlanta properties, and it usually solves a drainage complaint at the same time.

Do you need this?

If any of these sound like your property, this is the service:

  • The lawn is lumpy, rutted or full of dips
  • The mower scalps high spots and misses hollows
  • Low areas hold water after every rain
  • Old stump holes, trenches or ruts have settled
  • The ground slopes the wrong way near the house

How the job runs

  1. 1

    Survey the surface

We walk it and identify the high and low points and, critically, which way water currently runs.

  2. 2

    Cut and fill

High spots cut down, hollows filled, material balanced across the yard where possible.

  3. 3

    Set the fall

Ground shaped so water runs away from the house and off the lawn rather than pooling on it.

  4. 4

    Topsoil, seed and finish

Screened topsoil where needed, raked to a clean finish, seeded and strawed or sodded.

What affects your price

Most residential yards fall in this range. Larger lots, heavy fill requirements or imported topsoil push it up. Area, how much material has to move and whether topsoil and sod are included are the drivers.

Why it's different in Georgia

Georgia clay settles unevenly and holds water in every dip, so a lumpy lawn here is a wet lawn. Levelling and setting proper fall usually fixes the standing water complaint without needing a drainage system at all.

FAQ

Yard Levelling — your questions

How much does yard levelling cost?

Every property is different, so we price it after seeing it rather than quoting blind. What moves the number is access for the machine, how much material has to move, site conditions and how much is hauled in or out. Estimates are free, fixed and in writing.

Can you level around existing trees and beds?

Yes, carefully. We avoid piling soil against trunks, which suffocates roots, and work around established beds.

Do I need to reseed afterwards?

Usually yes where soil has been moved. We seed and straw as part of the job, or lay sod if you want an instant lawn.

Will this fix my standing water?

Very often, yes. Most standing water in metro Atlanta yards is a grade problem rather than a volume problem. If yours genuinely needs a drain too, we will say so.
